Feeringbury Barn

Essex

A radical conversion of a Grade II listed barn in the heart of Essex.

Feeringbury Barn is a radical restoration and conversion of a Grade II listed timber barn on a working farm into a large family home and artist studios. The conversion used innovative construction techniques to meet conservation officers’ requirements to retain an industrial aesthetic while creating a hugely successful and sustainable building. A key feature is large rooflights concealed within the roof, which allow light to fill the building while remaining invisible from outside view. Recycled and reclaimed materials have been used extensively to complete a fascinating and remarkable building.
