Architectural Technologist

We are currently seeking a talented Architectural Technologist to join our award-winning team in central Norwich!

At Hudson Architects, we are committed to the important role that we, as designers, have in tackling the climate crisis and we are passionate about creating environmentally conscious, sustainable architecture. All our projects seek to reduce energy consumption, use construction materials that have a low environmental impact and prioritise healthy environments for the building users. We are proud of our project portfolio, which spans one-off houses, public buildings, schools and university buildings and private and social housing.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in practice/post qualification
  • Strong working knowledge of current UK Building Regulations
  • Highly proficient technical detailing ability across new and existing buildings
  • Excellent specification & CAD skills (2D and 3D).
  • Experience of submitting planning applications including creating Design and Access statements and planning drawing packages.
  • Able to conduct measured and photographic surveys of existing buildings and draw up results.

Desirable skills & experience:

  • MCIAT qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience of working with existing buildings including undertaking condition surveys and energy efficiency measures.
  • Knowledge of PAS 2035 and 2038 standards.
  • A passion for sustainability and an interest in bio based/low carbon construction materials.
  • Experience in ArchiCAD (2D and 3D)
  • Experience across all RIBA workstages.
