We are pleased to share news of an exciting new chapter for Hudson Architects. A leadership transition is underway as Founding Director Anthony Hudson begins the process of handing over the management and ownership of the practice to a generation of new directors.
Sarah Tunnicliffe, who has been with Hudson Architects since 2013, continues in the role of Managing Director. She will lead the practice alongside new directors Tom Booen and Louise Boddie.
This carefully planned transition, which began in 2024 and will be fully in place by April 2026, ensures continuity, stability and an ongoing commitment to our core values.
As part of her role as Managing Director, Sarah has lead responsibility for sustainability at Hudson Architects – a role that aligns with her work as a member of the Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN) steering group. Meanwhile Tom takes lead responsibility for housing, placemaking and retrofit projects, working with a wide range of public and private sector clients across a variety of scales. Louise leads on education, public and community building design, developing a portfolio that includes a series of refurbishment of campus buildings for Norwich University of the Arts as well as schools and libraries. Anthony will remain actively involved as Hudson Architects’ design guardian, with a focus on one-off homes, research and academia.
Reflecting on the transition, Sarah shared:
“Tom, Louise and I are privileged to be taking over the leadership of Hudson Architects, and developing the amazing legacy created by Anthony. The current transition process is underpinned by an incredible amount of trust, and the support of both our outstanding team and brilliant clients. We are looking forward to taking the practice forward, and are confident in Hudson Architects’ future.”
Anthony also reflected on this milestone:
“I am extremely proud of everything that Hudson Architects has achieved since I founded the practice. The time is now right for me to hand over the reins to a new generation, and I am delighted that Hudson Architects’ new leaders have come up from within the practice. Together, Sarah, Tom and Louise make a formidable team, and I know they will do a great job with the support of our colleagues and clients. I’m delighted to be continuing in my role as design guardian, and excited to see what the future holds for the practice.”
We look forward to this exciting next phase and the continued success of Hudson Architects under its new leadership.
