Oak Farm House
Norfolk
Oak Farm House is a Grade II listed brick and flint farmhouse within the Bale Conservation Area in North Norfolk, carefully transformed with a contemporary rear extension.
The brief was to create a functional living, dining and kitchen space while respecting the character, scale and craftsmanship of the existing listed building. Our design introduces a sensitive yet modern extension, linked to the original house by a delicate glass connection that preserves the historic quoining and brick detailing.
Large sliding windows maximise natural light and frame views to the south east, strengthening the relationship between inside and garden beyond. A sedum roof provides visual relief when viewed from above.
A seamless dialogue between old and new, where light, landscape and architecture meet.
