Le Petit Fort, Jersey

Le Petit Fort is an outstanding new family home on the west coast of Jersey. Set within the retained walls of an earlier building, it offers an imaginative response to its setting and historical context through carefully considered contemporary architecture. The house picks up references to nearby Napoleonic and WWII defences, and offers a contrasting range of profiles from different viewpoints. Its rich materials palette includes Jersey granite, Corten and timber paneling, while the broken plan interior is characterized by generous spaces and exceptional craftsmanship.
