We’re delighted that four of our projects have been shortlisted for this year’s Design and Craftmanship Awards. The award celebrates architecture across Norfolk that makes a positive impact on the places we live, work and learn and will take place on Thursday 13th November.
Hosted by RIBA Norfolk, The Norwich Society, Norwich University of the Arts and the Norfolk Gardens Trust, the awards highlight projects that combine great design with exceptional build quality.
Coastal Cottage, shortlisted in the Houses and Housing category, is a thoughtfully reimagined home that conjoins a pair of traditional flint cottages to create a spacious single home. A series of carefully designed extensions that bring light, space and flow, were key to creating a home that balances traditional character with sustainable, modern living.
Also in the Houses and Housing category, Ash Farmhouse is a sensitive transformation of a Grade II listed home. Our aim was to reconnect isolated spaces to create a warm, functional, family home. A new addition replaces a tired conservatory, offering a bold contrast to the farmhouse’s character.
In the Non-Residential category, 20 Bank Plain has been recognised for its transformation into a lively and inspiring hub for creativity, learning and student life at Norwich University of the Arts. We worked closely with the university to unlock the building’s potential, carefully balancing respect for its listed status with the ambition to create an open, flexible and contemporary environment.

Also shortlisted in the Non-Residential category, our work on the Big School and Reith Building at Gresham’s School extends and repurposes existing spaces to support modern teaching and study. The design improves environmental performance, accessibility and circulation, while preserving the historic integrity of the school’s architecture.

We are proud to see these projects recognised alongside so many others celebrating design and craftmanship across the county. Congratulations to everyone shortlisted.
