King’s Lynn Library Shortlisted for AJ Architecture Awards 2026

We’re incredibly proud to announce that King’s Lynn Library has been shortlisted for the Architects’ Journal Architecture Awards 2026 in the Civic category!

The project reimagines a former commercial building as a light-filled civic destination, bringing together library, learning and community facilities under one roof. The existing structure has been transformed into an accessible, welcoming place for people to meet, work and study.

Retaining and adapting the original concrete frame was central to the design, significantly reducing embodied carbon while creating generous, daylit spaces arranged around a new top-lit atrium with a distinctive timber-lined staircase.

A huge thank you to our brilliant client and project team for making this possible.

The winners will be announced on 26th November, we’re looking forward to celebrating alongside all the other amazing, shortlisted practices.
